Guilty

US Marine Daniel Smith was found guilty of raping a Filipina by Judge Pozon of the Makati Trial Court.

I must admit that at first I didn't think that our justice system has the balls to convict a US citizen especially in light of the fact that our country enjoys substantial financial support from the US government.

Score one for the local courts.

I'm wondering now what would happen to the financial aids that the US pledged to the Arroyo government? Will the US still honor its commitment to provide support to our government?

That's what's wrong with politics. One move that's contrary to what another party wants and you'll end up facing the sharp end of a stick.

Filipinos may still end up being the losers here.

Anyway, I'm just hoping that the Arroyo Administration's claims that the national economy is picking up is all true. This way, we wouldn't be needing financial aids anyway.

What do you think?
